After delimitation drama, Modi regime tasks EC with fiddling with IIOJK voter lists

New Delhi: Having finalized the delimitation drama in an attempt to gerrymander the future results of the election for the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, the Modi-led Indian regime has instructed its Election Commission to initiate the revision of electoral rolls in the territory. As per the instructions, the draft rolls will be prepared by August 31.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioner Anup Chandra Pandey carried out a review and directed IIOJK Chief Electoral Officer to map the redrawn assembly constituencies. The electoral roll revision will be carried out before the so-called first assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir.

Re-serialisation, mapping and renaming of polling stations post the delimitation will be done by June 30, in addition to the identification of polling stations for those villages for which new booths need to be created. The appointment of booth level officers and their proper training will be done by July 5. Directions have also been given for the appointment of officials affiliated with Hindutva ideology of RSS-BJP regime for work on updating voter lists.

“Muslim voters would be discouraged for enrolment on the pretext of insufficient documents and under other excuses, while Hindu voters would be accommodated in all possible way so that a Hindu chief minister is installed in IIOJK after the elections, so said political analysts who closely watch developments on occupied Jammu and Kashmir particularly after abrogation of Article 370 by the Modi regime in August 2019.
