Demolishing Muslim protestors’ homes: India is taking a leaf out of Israel’s book

New Delhi: Taking a cue from its Zionist mastermind Israel, Modi-led Hindutva government is on a spree to bulldoze the houses of Muslim citizens who are participating in protests against remarks by the ruling BJP leaders on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

As Israel is doing with Palestinians in Al-Aqsa and other parts of illegally occupied Palestine, India under Modi is repeating the same with its Muslim citizens in India and also in IIOJK. In one such latest incident, Hindutva-inspired Indian Police demolished the residence of one Javed Shah, on the charge of masterminding anti-blasphemy protests in the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh state of India.

This was the third demolition of “illegal properties” owned by Muslims in two days in the state. UP Police has also arrested 304 persons in a massive crackdown over the anti-Prophet (PBUH) remarks of two BJP spokespersons from eight districts.

A former Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court said that the demolition of Mr Ahmed’s house was “totally illegal”. This is not the first time Uttar Pradesh and some other BJP-ruled states have been accused of using demolitions to target alleged protesters in the aftermath of communal violence. Experts have questioned the method’s legal sanction.

Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union members raised slogans against “Bulldozer Raj” of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led government and held placards reading: “Stop the witch-hunt of Muslims”. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had recently reiterated that “miscreants”, a term loosely referred to Indian Muslims, particularly those who raise voices against excesses of BJP government, would face stern action in case they disturbed law and order.

Islamophobia has always been a central feature of the ideology of Hindu nationalist factions in India. The founder and first chief of the RSS Keshav Baliram Hedgewar proclaimed that “Hindu culture” is the “life-breath” of the country. If India “is to be protected, we should first nourish the Hindu culture”.  Web Desk
