London: Prince William “respects protocol” but plans to “modernize” certain aspects of the British royal family and make it “more relatable” when he becomes King, a new report has claimed.
William’s father Prince Charles, 72, is next in line to the throne when his mother Queen Elizabeth II abdicates or passes away and then William will take over from his dad.
The 38-year-old royal is already making plans with his wife Duchess Catherine as to how the British monarchy can be changed to become more relatable to the public and do away with some protocol that is outdated.
A source told the new issue of Us Weekly magazine: “William is already thinking about the future of the Monarchy and the changes he’ll make. While he respects protocol, he plans to modernize some aspects and is making it his mission to be more relatable than previous generations.”
William and 39-year-old Catherine – who have three children, Prince George, seven, and Prince Louis, three, and six-year-old Princess Charlotte – are also happy to continue sharing elements of their family life with the public as they know that people are interested in what it’s like to be royals.
