New Delhi: Another senior TV journalist has quit India’s New Delhi Television (NDTV).
Senior TV journalist and news presenter, Nidhi Razdan, is the latest addition to the series of journalists that quit the NDTV after the Adani Takeover. Several senior journalists have already quit the NDTV since Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s business tycoon friend, Gautam Adani, got ownership rights of NDTV in August, last year.
“After more than 22 years, it is time to move on from NDTV. It has been a wonderful, roller coaster ride but you have to know when to get off. The next couple of weeks is my last. Thank you for the love and support all these years,” Nidhi Razdan wrote on her Twitter.
Senior journalists, Ravish Kumar, Suparna Singh, Sreenivasan Jain, and NDTV founders, Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy had already left the news channel. Most of them parted their ways with the channel as they were strong critics of ruling BJP’s Hindutva policies.
It is to mention here that US-based Hindenburg Research accused Adani Group of frauds in business in November 2022. As per media reports, in the last three days, nearly $72 billion were lost in the market by Adani Group. This comes as a public spat between Asia’s richest man and a short-seller escalates, Bloomberg reported.
Shares in nearly all of the company’s listed firms – established by Gautam Adani – fell on Monday. Adani Transmission and Adani Green Energy were down as much as 15% and 20%, respectively, on Monday.
“India’s future is being held back by the Adani Group, which has draped itself in the Indian flag while systematically looting the nation,” the short seller added.
The public spat between the Adani Group and Hindeburg kicked off after the short-seller accused the company of stock manipulation and accounting fraud, in a scathing report published last Tuesday.
