BJP seeks boycott of FIFA World cup after Qatar’s invitation to Zakir Naik

Communal BJP calls for boycott of FIFA World cup after Qatar’s invitation to Zakir Naik

New Delhi: Hindu communal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Spokesperson Savio Rodrigues, urged the Indian government, Football Associations and Indians traveling to the host nation to boycott the sporting event following the invitation to renowned Islamic scholar Zakir Naik by Qatar to FIFA World Cup.

Zakir Naik, who was declared a ‘wanted man’ by India and has been living under asylum in Singapore has been invited by Qatar to deliver lectures on Islam during the ongoing FIFA World Cup.

Oblivion of the party’s hate policy and the massacre of Gujarat Muslims by the incumbent Indian prime minister, the spokesperson, Rodrigues said that giving a platform to Naik at a time when the world is battling terrorism is like giving a “terror sympathiser” to “spread hate”.

The BJP leader asked the Indians and also the people from abroad to boycott the World Cup event “in solidarity with the global fight against terrorism”.
