Call given for “Modi Go Back”, ahead of PM’s visit to Ramagundam

Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to Telangana on November 12, to dedicate the Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (RFCL) factory to the nation, is snowballing into a major issue, with several organisations questioning the real purpose of his visit.

Political parties in India staged protest against Prime Minister Modi visit to Ramagundam to register protest against the Centre’s “discriminatory attitude” towards Telangana. “Modi Go Back” protests gain momentum ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s proposed visit to Ramagundam on 12 November. Civic organizations and intellectual forums have written an open letter to the PM demanding to clarify his stand on pending issues pertaining to Telangana.

They reminded that none of the bifurcation promises, including a coach factory at Kazipet, a steel plant at Bayyaram, a tribal university and also incentives promised to industries setting up their units in the State, were kept. BJP regime at the Centre is implementing anti-worker and pro-corporate policies as part of its vigorous privatization drive.

People would teach a befitting lesson and would not allow Mr. Modi to enter Andhra Pradesh again if he failed to announce that the VSP would not be privatized and tell people what the Central government had done to develop the State. CPI(M) district Secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao alleged that BJP dispensation at the Centre was depriving Telangana of its due share in taxes levied by it.

The Centre had miserably failed to fulfil the assurances made in the AP Reorganization Act such as setting up of a steel factory in Bayyaram, among others. BJP is misusing constitutional institutions and investigative agencies apart from media outlets to spread its agenda and create communal divide. CPI district secretary Potu Prasad wondered how the Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (RFCL) plant in Peddapalli district, which already started production last year, could be inaugurated by Mr. Modi on Saturday after nearly one year. It was apparently aimed at deriving political mileage.
