Canadian Sikhs perform mass prayers ahead of Khalistan Referendum

Toronto: Ahead of 18 September voting for Khalistan Referendum in Toronto, over 50,000 Sikhs performed Ardas (Sikhs prayer) in Toronto to support Khalistan Referendum in a show of massive local support for the Khalistan movement.

Those who attended the prayer ceremony were carrying yellow flags carrying Khalistan slogans. Men, women and children chanted slogans of Khalistan and vowed to continue the struggle till the creation of Khalistan. Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) appreciated the mass gathering which supported the objectives of Khalistan Referendum.

In a report, Canadian Think Tanks have said that the Sikh advocacy group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) are rightly campaigning to raise awareness and pressurize India to hold an official referendum on the creation of Khalistan. The model followed by SFJ can serve as a beacon for all those nations, ethnicities and groups who want to obtain their right to self-determination through peaceful ways.

SFJ’s Counsel General Gurpatwant Singh Pannun said, Canadian Sikh community’s response to upcoming 18 September voting is overwhelming and “has caused nightmares to the Modi regime”.

Last week, Canadian Sikhs have registered a new record in support of the Khalistan movement by taking out a car rally that stretched to several kilometers, consisting of over 2000 vehicles including cars and iconic Canadian trucks.

Ahead of 18 September, Khalistan Referendum voting in Toronto, pro-Khalistan activists are actively holding truck rallies with Khalistan banners, plastering mega billboards, signs and distributing the promotional material at Gurdwaras in Brampton. The 18 September voting centre for Khalistan Referendum in Toronto, Canada is named after Shaheed Harjinder Singh Parha to honor the young pro-Khalistan Sikh who went back to India from Canada to participate in the then ongoing armed struggle for Khalistan in the wake of the Indian Army’s June 1984 attack on the Golden Temple.
