Srinagar: National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah has said that the armed resistance will not end in the territory unless the Indian government starts dialogue with Pakistan to resolve the Kashmir issue.
Talking to reporters in Srinagar, today, Farooq Abdullah said ‘militancy’ in Kashmir will not end unless the Indian government tries to win hearts of the people and engages in dialogue with the neighboring country. “I tell them it will never end unless you win the hearts of the people,” he added, while referring to New Delhi.
The NC president said that the militancy caravan will continue until the issue is resolved through dialogue with the neighboring country and a solution is found. “We will die in this calamity and no one will pay attention,” he said.
His remarks came after an Assistant Sub Inspector of Indian police was killed and two other cops were injured in an attack by unknown gunmen in Lal Bazaar area of Srinagar on Tuesday evening.
