Hindutva activist vows to demolish Eidgah wall in India

Karnataka: The ring-wing Hindu organization Vishwa Sanatan Parishad President Bhaskaran has vowed to demolish Eidgah Wall in Bengaluru on the lines of Babri Mosque.

The two-acre Eidgah Maidan in Bengaluru’s Chamrajpet area has become the bone of contention between Hindus and Muslims. Several Hindutva groups have started demanding Hindu festivals to be celebrated on the ground that has served as a place for Muslims to offer Namaz during their festivals for decades.

Bhaskaran, who has been active in the agitations has demanded that controversial site must be handed over to the state government from the Karnataka State Board of Auqaf, had said that he would get the Eidgah tower demolished on the lines of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya. President Bhaskaran said, when it has been declared that Eidgah Maidan belongs to the state government, “then why should there be an Eidgah tower in the Maidan?”

Taking up a suo moto, Karnataka police have filed an FIR against a Hindu activist Bhaskaran for issuing statements to create communal tension and discord in society. Web Desk
