New Delhi: Militant Hindutva leader Yati Narsinganand has been booked by the Uttar Pradesh police after yet another instance of the leader making inflammatory statements by allegedly calling for the demolition of madrasas and the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

Narsinghanand described Aligarh as the place from where the “seed of India’s partition” was sown and said that Aligarh Muslim University should be demolished using bombs. Aligarh Police has filed case against Yati Narsinganand, Hindu Mahasabha National Secretary Pooja Shakun Pandey and husband Ashish Pandey.

They have been booked under Sections 188, 295A, 298, 505(2) and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. According to police, a religious function was organized by Ashish Pandey where Yati Narsinghanand and several others took part.

Police said Pandey did not take permission from concerned authorities to host the event. Narsinganand added that he is not bothered about the legal consequences of his actions. “Court cases keep on coming,” he said. “Maybe, for what I am saying right now, I will again face a case.” This is not the first time Narsinghanand has delivered a hate speech. He has been involved in hate speech cases in the past as well.

Earlier, in April, he delivered a hate speech at a religious conclave in Una, Himachal Pradesh. Last year, an FIR was lodged in Haridwar against him for making highly provocative speeches against Muslims at the Dharma Sansad from 17- 19 December.

In Delhi, he had exhorted Hindus to take up arms to fight for their existence. Narsinghanand also hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ during the event. Yati Narsinghanand said, “Rahul Gandhi is with the jihadis. He could not win in Uttar Pradesh and went to Kerala and contested from Wayanad.”

He further added, “If Rahul Gandhi wants to unite India, then he should go to Pakistan and Bangladesh, which were built by Mahatma Gandhi. First connect Pakistan, Bangladesh with India. By doing this, everyone else will join him.” Web Desk
