India most dangerous country for women with sexual violence

New Delhi: India is the world’s most dangerous country for women due to the high risk of sexual violence and being forced into slave labour, according to a poll of global experts.

India has shown utter disregard and disrespect for women, rape, marital rapes, sexual assault and harassment, female infanticide has gone unabated. Executive Director of India Today, Preeti Choudhry said, A rape is reported every 6.2 minutes in India.

The word ‘Sexual Harassment’ is banned in Indian parliament to hide harassment of BJP members. According to Thomas Reuters Foundation, India is the world’s most dangerous country for women due to the high risk of sexual violence and harassment against women. Several incidences like Nirbhaya rape case (2012), Unnao rape case (2017), Kathaua rape case (2018) and the Hyderabad rape cum murder case (2019) exposed the grim reality of bestial sexual crimes against women in the country.

According to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), more than 28,000 cases of rape were reported across India in 2020. NCRB data from September 2021 also showed that more than 370,000 cases of crimes against women were reported in the country in 2021. The judicial system of India is somewhere responsible for the rising numbers in the rape cases in India. Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi Tweeted, “While our PM tiptoes around his garden making Yoga videos, India leads Afghanistan, Syria and Saudi Arabia in rape and violence against women.

What a shame for our country.” Even Rajasthan Congress Minister Dhariwal, said: “Rape ke mamle mein hum number ek me hain; iss mein koi doh raai nahi.” Dhariwal said, “Rajasthan to mardon ka pradesh raha hai yaar, iska hum kya karein?”  The world has always turned a blind eye towards dire situations of minorities’ especially women in India. It has contributed in up-scaling of HRVs to a catastrophic level transforming into human tragedy. Despite numerous UN and other HR watch organizations studies/ reports India has denied to accept the ground realities and abide by international obligations in this regard.  Web Desk
