Muslims protest against desecration of Holy Quran in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh: A large number of Muslims protested against the desecration of the Holy Quran by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) goons in Shah Jahanpur city of Uttar Pradesh.

The incident took place in the Chowk Kotwali area of Shah Jahanpur when people entered Syed Shah Fakhr Alam mosque on Wednesday evening and set fire to the Holy Quran.

When Imam Hafiz Nadeem and others arrived at the mosque for prayers, they saw the burnt pages of the Holy Quran there and informed other people about it. After that the Muslims in the area gathered outside the mosque and protested strongly.

They took to the streets and blocked the traffic in the area for several hours. The protesters took down the hoardings of BJP leaders in the area and set them on fire. The police used batons to disperse the protesters.

The SP (City), Sanjay Kumar reached the spot along with the force and after negotiating with the protesters assured them of strict action against the elements involved in the incident.

On the other hand, the police have registered a case against unknown persons for the desecration of Holy Quran and started investigation. Web Desk
