Kashmiri activists begin hunger strike at Jantar Mantar, demand restoration of Article 370

New Delhi: Kashmiri social and human rights activists held a protest and began a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar demanding the revocation of 370, PSA and UAPA in Jammu and Kashmir.

The protesting activists requested Supreme Court of India to press for restoration of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir that was unilaterally abrogated by the Modi government on 05 August 2019. The activists said, “Release all political prisoners who are incarcerated under draconian laws like PSA and UAPA should be shifted to Kashmir time bound and fair trial should be given to the all prisoners of J&K.” The activists said, they are protesting to highlight the ongoing situation of Kashmir. “We are witnessing a human loss, we condemn all killings and express pain of so-called Naya Kashmir,” the protesting activists said.

India has extra-judicially murdered at least 666 Kashmiris since its unilateral and illegal actions of 05 August 2019, including around 144 this year. No quantum of brutality would, however, break the will, perseverance and courage of the Kashmiris.

India continued massive human rights violations in IIOJK through the deployment of its over 900,000 security forces, it ended the special status of Jammu and Kashmir State illegally and unilaterally on 5 August 2019 by abrogating Article 370 and 35A of its constitution.

UK based Stoke White Investigations has filed an appeal to the London’s Metropolitan Police for the arrest of Indian Army Chief General Manoj and Indian Home Minister Amit Shah for undertaking massive human rights of Kashmiris in IIOJK. Indian Army and its paramilitary forces are undertaking massive human rights violation in IIOJK since 1990 through; direct killings, torture, kidnapping, extrajudicial killings as well as rape and sexual violence. Major powers and international community must constrain India to end its massive human rights violation in IIOJK forthwith which should also include stoppage of the demographic changes. Web Desk
