Modi’s evil designs in IIOJK

Qaisar Mansoor

Kashmir is a deep scar left unhealed by the Partition of the Subcontinent. It continues to bleed even seven decades after it was inflicted on the body and soul of millions of Muslims of this Valley.

Since illegally revoking the special status of IIOJK in 2019 by repealing Article-370 & 35 A of its Constitution, India is continuously peddling false propaganda to push the false narrative of so-called normalcy returning to IIOJK.

BJP led Indian government wants to bolster its normalcy claims by holding next G-20 summit in IIOJK. G20 summit in IIOJK is a smokescreen aimed at diverting international attention from massive human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian troops in the territory. India wants to distort reality about the Kashmiris’ freedom struggle by holding G-20 summit in IIOJK.

Fascist Modi regime wants to tell the world that everything is all right in IIOJK by holding G20 summit in the territory but it will never succeed to hide the reality through such moves. RSS-BJP regime is bent upon demographic engineering of IIOJK.

Six million fake domicile certificates have been issued to non-Kashmiris to turn Kashmiris into a minority in their own homeland with the ultimate goal of changing the outcome of UN supervised plebiscite in the occupied territory.

If New Delhi is compelled to hold a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir in the future, the results can go in the Indian favour. But, despite the deployment of more than 900,000 Military troops in IIOJK, who have martyred thousands of the Kashmiris through brutal tactics-fake encounters, New Delhi has failed in repressing the Kashmiris’ prolonged war of liberation.

The unabated Indian repression including extra-judicial killings of innocent Kashmiris, unprecedented restrictions on freedom of speech, fake encounters, Cordon-and-Search Operations, custodial torture and deaths, enforced disappearances, incarceration of Kashmiri leadership & youth, use of pellet guns, destruction and burning of houses and other methods of subjugation have miserably failed to shake the will of Kashmiri people. India violates Article 2 of the Genocide Convention and Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention which prohibits occupying forces to “transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies”.

It also violates 85(4) (a) Additional Protocol I, ICC Statutes Article 8(2) (b) (viii) and 22 (3) (b) of the International Law Commission’s Draft Code of Crimes against the Peace and Security of Mankind. Above all, Indian actions in Kashmir violate the UNSC Resolution No. 446, 452, 465, 476 and 677. The demographic changes prepare the ground for settlements on the pattern of the Israeli settlements on Palestinian land.

Two human rights experts, Fernand de Verennes and Ahmed Shaheed of UNHRC have also expressed grave concerns over the demographic changes being made by BJP-RSS regime in occupied Kashmir. India has a long history of using falsehood as its state policy and this is not the first time that the Indian government has tried to hoodwink the international community. Previously, India presented a staged visit of EU parliamentarians to IIOJK as the official visit of EU delegations.

Another guided trip of foreign envoys to the disputed region was also organized to project that everything is right in the occupied region, apparently trying to fend off the growing international calls for independent investigations into the gross human rights violations in the region.
