Neelum Valley is considered a most beautiful place of Azad Kashmir. The valley’s natural beauty attracts a lot of international and domestic tourists from all over the world. It is located in the north most region of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan.

Neelum Valley presents a wide range of natural beauty from lush green valleys to snowcapped mountains. The beautiful valley is located about 20 kms from Muzaffarabad. Neelum Road is about 200km long, starting from Muzaffarabad. The Line of Control between Pakistan and India is located on the bank of Neelum River so one can see flags of each countries standing high in their territories. Neelum Valley amazes a lot of travelers, photographers and tourists with its beautiful natural environment.

A tourist starts to capture the beauty as he follows the Neelum River. The river changes its color grey to blue alongside the Neelum River. Besides this, Banjosa Lake is also popular tourism destinations in Azad Kashmir. It is an artificial lake and a tourist destination also located in the Poonch district. It is located at an altitude of around 2,000 feet above sea level. The location and the surroundings of the lake are charming and romantic for visitors.

The greenery and the mountains around the lake enhance its beauty and no doubt, it is a heaven on earth. This artificial lake is a matter of pride, prestige and image of Pakistan’s contributions of peace and stability in AJK. Foreign and local tourists amuse with the beauty of this lake. Pakistan’s Azad Kashmir is a blessed with nature and tourist spots.

These places are developed into world class tourist sites. An international tourist can clearly see the difference between Azad Kashmir and Indian Occupied Kashmir from peaceful movement and restricted movement in occupied forces in IIOJK. The best time to visit Neelum Valley and Banjosa Lake is from April – September. It snows heavily in winters, so the connecting roads are blocked due to snowfall, a routine in winters.
