The staggering scale of India’s anti-Pakistan propaganda machine

Islamabad: Hundreds of fake news websites and NGOs linked to Indian entities were used to spread propaganda against Pakistan internationally.

India perpetually resort of immoral activities like deceit, fraud, propaganda and state sponsored terrorist attacks killing their own people for serving political interests. German Investigative Journalist Elias Davidson in his book, “The Betrayal of India: Revisiting the 26/11 Evidence” highlighted that India has history of false flag operations from 1971 to till today.

When India feels, it is not being able to cope up internal rift, Indians launch a false flag operation for political gains. India endorsed this agenda in front of International Statuary platforms with an aim to label Pakistan as a terrorist-sponsoring country but failed to prove it on all forums. Recently, a news article published titled “Pakistan fuelling terrorism in Kashmir: over 20 terror camps operational in PoK: Report” in Global Watch Analysis (GWA) by French writer Ronald Jacquard. It was further cited in various Indian newspapers, accused Pakistan of harbouring terrorists.

The report is totally based on disinformation campaign and with propagandist intent to tarnish the image of Pakistan globally. Whereas, GWA is an anti-Islamic platform and activity spreading Islamophobia content on social media.

Many of the articles are aimed at maligning China- Pakistan relations and the Taliban. Interestingly, only Indian media is found to be citing and referring to these articles, which are written by Ronald Jacquard. This peculiar pattern- where Ronald Jacquard writes an article against actors which India considers to be its enemies and immediate overrated response by Indian media- strengthens the view that Ronald Jacquard and GWA for that matter, may be funded by India. India has always used fake social media outlets to spread disinformation to target Pakistan and influence the global community’s perception of Pakistan.

In 2020, a European non-governmental organization (NGO), EU DisinfoLab, unearthed a sophisticated disinformation campaign originating from India which has been targeting Pakistan since 2005.  A major player in the campaign revealed by DisinfoLab is India’s largest wire service, ANI, which has been amplifying content produced on fake media outlets.

The recent report, accusing Pakistan of harbouring terrorism, has also been published and widely circulated by ANI. The sole purpose of campaign is to influence global organizations, especially the FATF against Pakistan. India is still trying to construct a narrative to declare Pakistan as a troublemaker in the region; however, by doing so the Indian government is itself jeopardizing the stability of the South Asian region to serve this purpose.    Web Desk
