APHC denounces India’s plan to hold G20 moot in Srinagar

APHC expresses resentment over media reports about likelihood of G20 moot in Srinagar

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) ) has criticized India’s proposal to hold the G-20 summit in Srinagar and urged the group’s participants to concentrate on the economic recovery rather than politicking the pertinent issue

In a statement issued in Srinagar, the APHC leadership said that the event, if held, would badly dent the democratic credentials of the member countries, particularly the European Union. In Indian Administered Kashmir, every aspect of life for Kashmiri Muslims is under assault by BJP-led Hindutva regime.

Senior APHC leader Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar said that Modi regime’s unilateral actions on August 05, 2019 opened a more brutal chapter in Kashmir’s tortured history. Indian administration has taken a number of steps including administrative, demographic and electoral to disempower and disenfranchise the Kashmiris.

Every Indian action mimicking Israeli settler policy in occupied Palestine is aimed at eroding culture, language and religious identity of Kashmiri Muslims.

He appealed to the civilized nations including UN and OIC to impress upon G20 countries to boycott any such event in Kashmir as it will negate the civilized world’s adherence to the supremacy of human rights and humanity.

Having mentioned the above facts, he said that Indian Prime Minister Modi is exploiting office of G20 presidency to hold its meeting in UN-designate disputed Jammu and Kashmir. India wants to bolster its normalcy claims by holding G20 summit in Indian Administered Kashmir. Experts termed Indian move as creating a smokescreen aimed at diverting international attention from HRAs.
