BJP aims to impose RSS agenda in India: Kumari Selja

Chandigarh: The President of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC), Kumari Selja has said that the Indian and state governments of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) want to impose the agenda of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in the country.

Interacting with journalists, after addressing the advocates at the induction ceremony of the legal and human rights department of Haryana Congress, said the legal team elaborated on the legal aid provided to the agitating farmers of the state.

She accused Manohar Lal Khattar-led BJP government in the state of resorting to use of force on innocent farmers to implement their own agenda. Selja listed out the names of lawyers turned politicians like Mahatama Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, B R Ambdekar and Sardar Patel who made a remarkable contribution in freedom of the country.

“But ever since the BJP government was formed, there has been a campaign to implement the RSS agenda bypassing the Constitution. The Constitution is being blown away. Even the constitutional institutions of the country, whether it is the Election Commission or the CBI, ED, Income Tax Department or the Judiciary, are being used against the opponents,’’ said Selj

Now, lawyers have to come forward and contribute in protecting the Constitution so that the existence of these constitutional institutions can be saved and BJP could not do any kind of tampering with the Constitution, she added.

Selja said, so far, internet has been banned 16 times in Haryana in districts like Jind, Panipat, Kaithal, Kurukshetra. “India is far ahead in the world in terms of internet ban. The internet has been banned about 32 times in the country so far this year. Due to the shutdown of internet service, not only the common man has to face problems, but the economic system of the country also has to suffer a lot. In 2020, there was internet ban for 8,927 hours due to which the government has suffered financial loss of about Rs20,000 crore. Modi and his Hindu nationalist BJP government are directly to blame for all this,” she added. Web Desk
