Gujarat: A BJP leader Chandrasinh Raulji who was involved in the decision to release Bilkis Bano’s rapists and, amid a huge backlash, had described them as “Sanskari Brahmins” is recently elected as Member of Rajya Sabha from Gujarat.
Mr Raulji was part of the Gujarat government committee that unanimously decided to release the 11 men guilty of raping Bilkis Bano and killing nine members of her family, including her three-year-old daughter, during the 2002 Gujarat riots.
BJP MLA who called Bilkis Bano convicts, it is also necessary to mention here that BJP also nominated the daughter of one of the convicts, Manok Kurrani as MLA candidate in Gujarat. Kurkrani was part of a mob that burnt alive a Muslim Woman and a convicted mass murderer who has been released on parole for BJP’s Election Campaign.
Indian Home Minister Amit Shah while addressing an election rally in Gujarat in Nov 2022 said brazenly that those responsible for the communal riots in Gujarat were “taught such a lesson” that The State has been peaceful for 22 years.
Instead of awarding strict punishments to ‘Babri Masjid’ demolition perpetrators, Indian court acquitted 32 accused in Nov 2020, including senior RSS & BJP leaders like Lal Krishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti of criminal conspiracy, thus denying justice to more than 200 million Indian Muslims.
BJP MLA who called Bilkis Bano convicts, the verdict by Indian court delivered victory to hate, bigotry and chauvinism, which has further intensified the Hindu nationalist efforts to turn India into a Hindu majoritarian nation. BJP / RSS Hindu extremists continue to illegally demolish mosques / madrassas in different states under the garb of their linkage with historical Hindu sites.
In 2022 alone, a score of madrassas and mosque have been demolished. Moreover, Gyanvapi Mosque is also being claimed by fanatic Hindus as being a historical temple.
