G20 meeting was aimed at covering up real situation in IIOJK: Omar Abdullah

Srinagar: National Conference leader, Omar Abdullah, has said that the holding of the G20 meeting in Srinagar was an attempt by Narendra Modi-led Indian government to cover up the situation in the territory but the local people know the reality.

Omar Abdullah talking to reporters in Srinagar said , “You cleaned the roads for the G20 (delegates) but local people know what it takes to travel from one place to another. Where they used to take five minutes to cover a particular distance earlier, they now spend 40 minutes.”

He said, “Students are not able to reach schools in time, employees are late to work, patient dies in ambulance. We know what the situation is.”

Pertinently, the G20 meeting was hosted by the Modi government from May 22-24 in Srinagar to mislead the world about the ground situation and hide its crimes in the occupied territory.

To a question about an Indian Army commander’s recent statement that the time was not right for withdrawal of army from occupied Kashmir, the NC leader said he agreed with the General as the situation has worsened over the past few years. “We are also saying that the situation is not normal. General is also saying the situation is not right,” he said.
