Lucknow: An 18-year-old Muslim youth was lynched by a Hindutva mob in Kaushambi district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh while his brother was admitted to hospital with serious injuries.
The Hindutva mob in Bhirpur village got hold of the 18-year-old Zafar Alam on Monday. Somehow, he managed to contact his brother Noor Alam, who was near the village, and rushed to rescue him. While the mob tried to attack Zafar, his brother reached the spot and tried to rescue his younger brother, he, too, was thrashed.
The Hindu extremists lynched Zafar Alam and critically injured Noor Alam, who is battling for life at a hospital.
An FIR was lodged against an unidentified mob for murder and attempted murder in this regards at Pipri police station. Kaushambi police told the media that investigation was underway to establish the exact sequence of events that ended in Zafar’s death and left Noor critically wounded.
Meanwhile, a 14-year-old girl was abducted and raped by two men in the in Kanpur city of Uttar Pradesh. Web Desk
