Srinagar: In a bid to kill more freedom-loving Kashmiri people in fake encounters, Modi-led fascist Indian regime has decided to equip its police with deadly American Sig Sauer assault rifles and pistols.
The Indian Army has already equipped its troops present in IIOJK with the state-of-the-art rifles. As per officials, Indian police in IIOJK are probably the first to get the modern weapons, adding that the force will be procuring 500 Sig Sauer-716 rifles and 100 Sig Sauer MPX 9mm pistols.
The officials further said that police had recently floated global bids on the government buying portal GeM (Government e-Market) for purchasing the assault weapons.
The Sig Sauer-716 assault rifle has a more powerful 7.62x51mm cartridge as compared to the 5.56x45mm intermediate cartridge of the INSAS (Indian Small Arms System) rifles used by police, they added.
The rifle, which weighs 3.82 kilograms without magazine, fires at a cyclic rate of 650-850 rounds per minute and can prove to be an effective weapon against Kashmiri youth due to its 500 metres range, the officials said.
It is worth mentioning here that Modi has given unbridled powers to its forces including police to kill, maim and arrest Kashmiris. Until Jan 1989 till date, Indian forces’ personnel have martyred 95950 people and molested 11246 women in IIOJK. Web Desk
