LIPR Trustee condemns UK govt’s silence over Israeli violence against Palestinians

London: Over 170 Palestinians have been injured after Israeli police stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque and dispersed worshippers elsewhere in occupied East Jerusalem. This incident has earned wide spread condemnation by almost all leaders of the world except United Kingdom.

A Trustee of London Institute of Peace Research, Dr. Mohammed Abbah has written to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson condemning his silence over this gross violation of human rights by Israeli forces. He declared Prime Minister Boris Johnson of being a pro-Zionist and an anti-Muslim leader.

In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Dr. Abbah said that it is his right to ask him to make a statement denouncing the violence towards unarmed innocent Palestinians. Dr. Abbah said that it was British government that gave land to Zionists and had left burning issues in Palestine and Kashmir. He said what was done during the British Raj is having negative consequences. It is time to put things right. Dr. Abbah said that it is everyone’s right to live in peace side by side.

Meanwhile Demonstrations were held across the UK on Sunday in solidarity with Palestinian worshippers who were attacked by Israeli soldiers inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Organized by the Palestinian Forum in Britain and other groups, people gathered outside Downing Street in London and the city center of Manchester to express their outrage toward the violence committed against Palestinians in Jerusalem.
