New Delhi: Perturbed by the strongly-worded statement of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) secretary general on Kashmir, India on Tuesday condemned his visit to Pakistan Administered Kashmir and his comments on human rights situation in Indian Administered Kashmir.
In a statement, Indian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Arindam Bagchi said, we strongly condemn the visit of OIC secretary general to Azad Kashmir and his comments on IIOJK during his visit to Pakistan.
In an attempt to dilute the embarrassment stemming from the OIC chief’s statement, the spokesman kept harping on the old mantra and said, “Let me reiterate that OIC has no locus standi in matters related to J&K, which is an integral and inalienable part of India. Any attempt of interference and meddling in India’s internal affairs by OIC and its secretary general is completely unacceptable.”
The visiting secretary general and the delegation paid respect and offered fateha in memory of people who sacrificed their lives for the Kashmir cause during his visit to Muzaffarabad.
