Oct 27 observed as Black Day in UK, Europe

London: Kashmiris and Pakistanis in the United Kingdom and Europe observed 27th October as Black Day and staged protests in various cities in the UK and Europe on the call of Tehreek-e-Kashmir, UK and Europe.

The main protests were held outside the Indian High Commission in London, outside Indian embassy in Oslo, Norway and outside Danish Parliament in Copenhagen, Denmark, to mark 74 years of illegal Indian occupation of Kashmir.

Addressing the protest outside the Indian High Commission in London, the President of AJK Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry said the fascist regime of India has no other option to reverse all its illegal actions and repeal laws it has enacted since 5th August 2019. Britain has a huge responsibility as most of Kashmiris are based in the UK and UK is one of the five permanent members of the UN. We trust UK for being a human rights champion to request UN for a plebiscite soon to put an end to the Indian atrocities in IIOJK, he added.

The Tehreek-e-Kashmir, UK, President, Fahim Kayani said, draconian laws such as Public Safety Act (PSA), Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), Terrorist and Disruptive Activities Act (TADA) and Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) are used to suppress the voice for freedom of Kashmir from Indian occupation.

The President of Tehreek-e-Kashmir, Denmark, Adeel Ahmed addressing a rally outside Danish Parliament said, after repealing the Kashmiris’ special status, Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government is now trying to change the demography of the occupied territory. Kashmiris face unabated extrajudicial killings, custodial torture, and death, arbitrary detentions, burning and looting of houses, he added.

Mian Tayyab, General Secretary of TeK, Europe, also expressed concern over human rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Kashmir, TeK, UK has launched a digital campaign against the illegal occupation of Kashmir by India.

The President of TeK, UK, Raja Fahim Kayani and President of the World Kashmir Awareness Forum, US, Dr Ghulam Nabi Mir flagged the digital van off from Brent mosque.

The TeK, UK, President Raja Fahim Kayani on the occasion said that the main purpose of the digital van was to draw the world attention towards the October 27, 1947 invasion of Indian troops in Kashmir.

He said, through the digital van, the world will know how Indian government is using its forces to crush the legitimate and peaceful political struggle of the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

“Kashmiri people across the globe observes October 27 every year as a black day to remind the world to implement the UN resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir so the people can decide about their political future,“ Kayani added.

The World Kashmir Awareness Forum President, Dr Mir said that they specially came from US to London for recording their protest against the illegal occupation of Kashmir, saying for this purpose he along with other colleagues of TeK, UK, will meet different people and think tanks in UK to put pressure on India to leave the occupied territory.
