Pakistan, Britain agree to further strengthen mutual ties

Islamabad: British Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Dominic Raab on Friday has said that United Kingdom (UK) wants to strengthen ties with Pakistan in diversified fields.

Addressing a press conference with Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad, Dominic Raab said that Pakistan and UK have mutual views regarding the future of people living in Afghanistan. He further thanked Pakistan for assisting evacuation of British nationals from Afghanistan. We hope that Taliban will bring stability in Afghanistan, he expressed.

Meanwhile, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Pakistan and Britain want peace in Afghanistan. He reiterated that Pakistan had no favourites in Afghanistan.

The minister said that a discussion was also carried out on the issue of grey list. Pakistan is keen on getting off the Financial Action Task Force‘s (FATF) grey list and has undertaken various steps to ensure that, he told. APP
