Sikhs pays homage to victims of operation blue star

Amritsar: Various Sikh bodies, including Sikh Intellectuals Circle, Shiromni Akali Dal (Amritsar), International Sikh Federation and Sikh Students Federation, have paid rich tributes to victims of Operation Blue Star 1984, when Indian army stormed the Sikh holiest Golden Temple in Amritsar.

The Chairman of Sikh Intellectuals Circle, Narinder Singh Khalsa, addressing the Sikhs in various Gurdwaras of Jammu city, today, paid rich tributes to Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa, Subegh Singh, BH Amrik Singh, Baba Thara Singh and all other victims of Operation Blue Star and said that the Sikh community can never forget the genocide of Sikhs by Hindu India & its communal brutal army.

He said on this day in 1984 the government of India under the secret understanding with communal Hindu organisations like RSS initiated this army operation to just demoralize the Sikh community striving for its independence & separate identity.

He elaborated in detail about the brutalities of Indian army of that day in Darbar Sahib Amritsar where thousands of unarmed children, women, youth and elders were mercilessly killed and said that today in almost entire Gurdwaras of IIOJK Sikh community have paid rich tributes to martyrs of 1984 and resolved to carry forward the mission of martyrs.

Narinder Singh Khalsa appealed to the Sikh community that best tributes to great martyrs is to aware the next generations about this anti-Sikh Hindu mindset and their atrocities against minorities in India and to continue to struggle for freedom and liberty. AFP
