
Imphal: Ten like-minded Indian political parties have condemned the stoic silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the ongoing violence in Manipur state.
The ten like-minded political parties are INC (Indian National Congress), CPI (Communist Party of India), CPI-M (Communist Party of India-Marxist), JD-U (Janata Dal United), AIFB (All India Forward Bloc), RSP (Revolutionary Socialist Party), Shiv Sena Udhav Thakrey, Trinamool Congress, NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) and AAP (Aam Aadmi Party). Leaders of these parties held a meeting in Imphal. The joint meeting chaired by President of Manipur chapter of Congress chapter K. Meghachandra took three resolutions with an aim to end the prevailing tense situation in the disturbed state.
The three resolutions are: 1. To call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi by the ten political parties on the ongoing turmoil in Manipur. 2. Demand to convene a Special Session in Manipur Legislative Assembly for a detailed discussion on the ongoing turmoil in the state. 3. To strongly condemn the stoic silence of Prime Minister Modi for more than 36 days on the ongoing turmoil in Manipur.
