The firm’s 41 pages’ report is based on over 2,000 testimonies which has exposed 450 cases of torture, 1500 cases of pellet gun victims, 100 cases of enforced disappearances and 30 cases of sexual violence.
The report also includes details about the arrest of prominent Kashmiri Rights Defender Khurram Parvez, by the Indian authorities last year. “Unarmed Kashmiri youth are being mercilessly killed by Indian troops in IIOJK. Former CM Mehbooba Mufti termed the directive as the government’s “PR misadventure” and reflection of “communal mindset”. Already, Modi-led fascist Indian government has kept Jamia Masjid in Srinagar closed for the last two years and Kashmiri Muslims are not allowed to offer congregational Friday prayers in the mosque.
Whereas, the main Muharram processions in the occupied territory have been banned for the last 34 years and the mourners have been tortured and arrested and thrown behind the bars.
Nefarious conspiracies and actions of the fascist BJP against the Muslims of IIOJK are eye-opening for today’s civilized world which has to abandon its criminal silence and immediately come forward for freedom of subjugated Kashmiris, their religious identity and civilization.
Extensive abuse of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in the disputed Kashmir yells for the attention of the international community to probe into the violations of Human Rights reported by local and the International bodies. It calls for the United Nations’ attention to step forward with collective action against abuse of human rights at large. Thus, it is high time for the international community to probe into the matter on an urgent basis and take necessary actions to protect human rights as enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
