Two Indians arrested for illegal Hundi transactions in Nepal

Birgunk: Nepalese police arrested two Indian citizens for their alleged involvement in running illegal Hundi transactions and evading tax in Birgunj Metropolitan City in Southern Nepal.

According to Nepal Police headquarters news bulletin, the arrested accused who were later identified as Mukesh Patel aged 29, who is a resident of Motihari Thana, and Bikram Patel aged 25, who is a resident of East Champaran Thana Kangeli Basatpur.

A police sources said that police team conducted a raid after receiving credible information that an illegal Hundi transaction was being conducted at Chhapkaia-Sirsiya along the Nepal-India border. While conducting checks on the trio, police recovered ₹ 1.5 million Nepalese currency notes which were tactfully hidden inside the helmet of one of the accused.

Police sources said that investigation from arrested accused persons are still in progress till the filing of this report.
