UK MP raises concern over holding of G20 meeting in IIOJK by India

London: British Member of Parliament (MP) and Chairperson of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Kashmir, Debbie Abrahams, has expressed concern over the holding of G20 meeting by India in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Addressing a function in London, she deplored that India hosted the G20 meeting in IIOJK to legitimize its actions of 2019. She said the events like G20 in occupied Kashmir are fundamentally looking to get global endorsement of the way of life that has emerged since revocation of Articles 370 and 35A.

Debbie Abrahams said that she was pleased to see that some countries decided not to attend the G20 meeting in Srinagar. She wished that more countries including the Britain should have boycotted the meeting to express solidarity with the Kashmiris.

The APPG Chairperson said that the UK should link its trade deals with India and other countries to their human rights records and give priority to the human rights over trade.

The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Self-determination Movement International Chairman, Raja Najabat Hussain, in his address on the occasion thanked Debbie Abrahams and other participants for their continued support to the Kashmir cause. Pakistan’s High Commissioner to UK, Moazzam Ahmad Khan, also addressed the event.
