US lauds Pakistan’s relentless support provided in Afghan peace process

Rawalpindi: The United States top diplomat Antony Blinken acknowledged Pakistan’s continuous efforts for peace and stability in the region and assured that Washington will work on further enhancing bilateral relations between both the countries.

Blinken made the comments in a phone call will Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

As per the ISPR, during the conversation, matters of mutual interest, regional security, including the latest developments in the Afghan Peace Process, and bilateral cooperation in various fields were discussed.

“Pakistan will always support Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process based on mutual consensus of all stakeholders,” the COAS told the US secretary of state.

Meanwhile, Japan Ambassador to Pakistan Kuninori Matsuda also called on General Bajwa at the GHQ.

The Japanese envoy and the COAS discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security situation and measures to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields were discussed.

The COAS said that Pakistan values its relations with Japan and acknowledged Japan’s efforts for regional stability.

The envoy praised Pakistan’s role for peace and stability in the region, particularly Afghan Peace Process, and vowed to further enhance ties with Pakistan. ISPR
