20th April marks the 56th death anniversary of Ghazi-e-Millat Raja Muhammad Haider Khan. He was a great leader with a vision to unite the Kashmiris.

Before partition, Raja Muhammad Haider Khan played an important role in the resistance movement against the anti-Muslim Maharaja. In 1947, he joined freedom activities in War of Kashmir Liberation and organized freedom struggle in Muzaffarabad / Poonch areas and forced Dogra Forces to abandon from these areas.

He always strived for the realization of the right to self-determination of the Kashmiris in India Occupied Kashmir and had a deep concern for the people of Kashmir. It is primary responsibility to carry forward the mission of great leaders and continue to support the right to self-determination of Kashmiris in IIOJK.

AJK President Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhary underlined the need for reviving the spirit of 1947’s freedom movement to take the ongoing liberation struggle in Indian Occupied Kashmir to its logical conclusion.

India has accelerated the denial of rights and freedoms to Kashmiris, detained the legitimate Kashmiri leadership, killed, maimed and summarily executed and tortured Kashmiris on a massive scale. In violation of international law and UN Security Council resolutions, India is seeking to change the demography of the occupied territory.

The situation in IIOJK is a tale of torture, murder, and agony. Durable peace and stability in South Asia would remain unrealized without a just and lasting solution to Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions and wishes of the Kashmiri people. International community should take serious notice of Indian state terrorism in occupied territory to crush indigenous struggle of Kashmiri people for their birth right.
