Dasu incident close nexus of Afghan, Indian intelligence agencies: FM Qureshi

Islamabad: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said Dasu incident was planned and executed from Afghan soil with a close nexus of Afghan and Indian intelligence agencies.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Thursday, he said it has been revealed, after thorough investigations, that Afghanistan’s NDS and Indian RAW were involved in this incident as they were not digesting Chinese investments in Pakistan and growing economic cooperation between Pakistan and China.

The Foreign Minister said the Government of Pakistan kept the Chinese side into loop at every phase of the investigation and China is fully satisfied with the investigations conducted by Pakistani agencies.

He said we facilitated the Chinese team to visit and examine the incident site and shared with them all information we had.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said enemies will not succeed in their nefarious designs in harming the all-weather friendship between Pakistan and China. He said both countries are unanimous to further strengthen their bilateral cooperation, after this incident.

He said we have decided that all China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects will continue and be completed within the stipulated time.

Answering a question, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said it is a general understanding between Pakistan and Afghanistan that they will not allow their soil to be used against each other. He said we have raised this matter with the Afghan authorities and it is hoped that they will act responsibly in light of the bilateral understanding. APP
