Situation in J&K much better now: DGP Dilbag Singh

Srinagar: Situation in Jammu and Kashmir is much better than before and the graph of militancy is coming down, Director-General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh said.

DGP Dilbag Singh has said that, “the terrorism is under control. The number of local terrorists has reached in double digits and number of foreign militants has also gone down”. DGP also claimed that hybrid militants threat was a big challenge and this year (2022) one hundred modules of hybrid militants have been busted.

DGP also levelled false accusations on Pakistan for supporting hybrid militants, he said, “hybrid militants work at the behest of Pakistani handlers and give them targets and these hybrid militants live like common citizens until they get exposed”.

The DGP also condemned the statement of former J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti for blaming security forces for killing militants during custody, he termed her statement as an effort to mislead the people.

After abrogation of Articles 370 & 35A in 2019 Indian media started claiming highly improved state of normalcy in the occupied Kashmir. The recent claims by Indian police also support Indian state narrative. India has also boosted about the military achievements of completely seizing cross border terrorism, on the other hand two days back Indian government has fiercely attacked Pakistan for the threat received by journalists in Jammu and Kashmir.

India without presenting any concrete proof indulged in blame game by stating that, “Kashmir fight blog runs from Pakistan, devastation is created at the behest of ISI”.

All these statements highlights the difference between Indian military and state leadership.  Once again a shift in point of view has been observed that indicates the Indian media reporting on the subject highlight a pattern of propaganda.
